Sign up for the NewsBrands Ireland annual Power of Planning competition!

Teams of junior media planners from Ireland’s media agencies are invited to participate in our annual media planning competition which takes place as part of our NewsBrands Engage conference.

We are inviting media planners with three years’ experience or less to immerse themselves in all things news brands and be inspired by the latest research, creative possibilities, case studies, and audience insights.

Our competition challenges teams to create an original and impactful media plan which showcases the range and effectiveness of the various print and online platforms that make up NewsBrands Ireland. Teams can be made up of between 4-6 members.

Entrants will be invited to register and attend the NewsBrands Engage conference, and following this will be presented with their individual competition briefs.

Each team will be given 24 hours to prepare their strategies and plans.  The virtual conference platform will allow the teams to network with representatives from the various news publishers’ advertising departments, ask questions and find information about their products.

Each team will make a short Zoom presentation to a judging panel on the afternoon of Thursday May 6.

The teams will be judged on the basis of five criteria:

  • Interpretation of the Brief
  • Strategic Thinking
  • Best Use of the Medium
  • Use of Budget
  • Presentation Skills
